Abstract. Taxonomic diversity and systematic classification of the endemic fauna of mammals from the Early Miocene of the Aktau Mountains, Dzhungarian Alatau (South-Eastern Kazakhstan) are discussed. Taxa of small mammals and their renewed systematic status are described.
